178 Scholars Earn Dean’s List Honors on Academic Day 2026; Student Leader, Journalist Top Ranks

City College of Calapan (CCC) celebrated as 178 students across all programs were officially recognized during the awarding ceremony of dean's lister on first day of Academic Day 2026, September 3.
The said ceremony was one of the highlights of CCC first ever Academic Day celebration, recognizing high-performing students based on their General Weighted Average (GWA) from the 2nd Semester of Academic Year 2025-2026, and the requirement of no below 85 grade across all subjects.
The official breakdown of Dean's Listers per program includes: BSEd-Science – 52; BSNED – 35; BSHM (Hospitality Management) – 25; BSTM (Tourism Management) –22; BSEd-Math – 15; BLIS (Library and Information Science) – 14; BSIS (Information System) – 10; and BPA (Public Administration) – 5.
Meanwhile, Princess Selah C. Catanyag, former president of the BSEd-Science department and also a former Editor-In-chief of the school publication The Innovators, proved that excellence can work both in curricular and extra-curricular as she emerged as the top Dean's Lister in the campus for the previous semester, garnering a 97% GWA.
Catanyag shared that her experience serving both as department president and editor-in-chief was one of the most challenging plot in her college life.
In an interview, she pointed out keys on how she survived the previous academic endeavor. "I was terrified that my studies would suffer but through proper time management and total trust in Him, I made it through," she stated.
"I am grateful and humbled by this honor, and I hope it inspires others to embrace challenges rather than fear them," Catanyag added.
Moreover, each institute gave incentives to their top one dean's lister, acknowledging their hard work on achieving the highest average among other academic achievers.
Academic Day celebration will continue through Friday, with interactive workshops and student-led showcases across all institutes.
