On the 11th of June 2026, the Bachelor of Special Need Education (BSNED) Department of the City College of Calapan held its much-awaited Student Orientation under the Institute of Education at Kalap Hall. From the heartfelt opening remarks of Dr. Rocelia P. Bayan, Dean of the Institute of Education, to the inspiring words of our College Administrator, Dr. Ronald F. Cantos — the morning was a beautiful reminder of why we chose this path.

All levels from 1st - 4th year students gathered together. They were warmly introduced to our dedicated Faculty Members, Program Chairs and Deans, were guided through the Prospectus Discussion by our esteemed Guidance Counselor, Teresita M. Acedera; Program Head, Nelma L. Viaña; and SNEd Professor, Jayzel Rone Pimentel. Important matters such as Admission and Retention Policies and Proposed Activities of the Program were also laid out to set our students on the right track. Adding to the meaningful moment of connection, our students were also formally introduced to the BSNED Department Officers and the IDEAS Organization Officers — the very faces that will walk alongside them, lead them, and serve them throughout their journey in this program. Overall, the event was a success filled with warm welcomes, meaningful conversations, and a whole lot of excitement as our newest BSNED students took their very first official step into the world of special needs education at the college institution.
